What a great day, slightly overcast with a wonderful breeze, everyone arrived early and a draw for tee-off position was carried out and we actually managed to tee off early. The course was in good condition and they are making major improvements each time we go down there. Only one complaint was heard that the greens were waaay too fast. Also it should be mentioned that the yardage is to the front of the green and not to the middle just in case you wondered why you were coming up short all the time.
As usual the handicap system worked a treat and there was not much in it with only 8 shots between first and last of the six teams. The winners on the day were the 'Mad Dog Team' of Gary Lyon, Dan Evans, Mark Morris & Brendan Tanham with a score of net 60. Runners-up were the 'Lanna Lads Team' of Mr.B., Barry Wall, Keiran Savage & Denis Dixon with a score of net 62. It was great to see Gary Lyon in the winners circle again at his favourite 'hole in one' course and also to see two new members come in as runners-up.
The four nearest the pins were won by Denis Dixon, Gerry Brimacombe, Barry Wall & Ram Taylor and let me tell you they were not very close at all with only one in contention on most holes. Hope you all enjoy your booze.
One member of the winning team kept them all in high spirits by supplying the whisky and saki all the way around including the caddies and if nothing else they sure were happy by the end of the day.
